Fighting Hunger: How We Distribute Meals to Families in Need

The Hunger Crisis in Urban India

While Mumbai is known for its economic prosperity, millions of residents live without access to adequate nutrition. Daily-wage workers, homeless individuals, and families in slum areas often go to sleep hungry. Food insecurity affects health, productivity, and the future of children growing up in these conditions.

SPT's Food Distribution Model

Sarwar Peace Trust runs daily and weekly food distribution drives across multiple locations in Mumbai. Our model includes hot cooked meals, ration kits containing rice, dal, oil, and spices, and special meals during festivals and emergencies. Every distribution drive is executed with volunteers who ensure dignity and respect in the process.

Scaling Our Reach

We have served over 10,000 meals and continue to scale our operations. During the monsoon season and festive months, our distribution efforts are intensified to serve communities worst hit by flooding and economic downturns. We partner with local kitchens, donors, and corporates under CSR to maximise our reach.
